Research Notes (to be continued)
*When referring to “users,” I am referring to those working with the software. When referring to “consumers,” I am referring to those who will be using the potential app once finished.
Android Studio:
-On the far right, there is a “preview” section that acts as a smart phone display for users to get a sense of how their app will appear and function.
-Under “Preferences”, then “IDE Settings,” is where users are able to change certain aspects of the appearance of their apps… such as colors, fonts, etc.
-The “Design” tab at the bottom of the screen is where users can change certain aspects regarding formatting on their app; layouts, backgrounds, etc.
-It is possible to offer apps in separate languages at the directory. Users can manually include single operations in various languages.

App Inventor 2 (Beta)
-The sidebar on the left under the divider “User Interface”, includes all aspects such as textbooks, buttons, etc., that users will be adding to their app.
-The screen in the center of the software represents what users will be able to view.
-The sidebar on the left under the divider, “Layout”, allows users to choose between a horizontal, table or vertical arrangement.
-The sidebar on the left under the divider, “Media”, allows users to insert media related aspects into their apps such as videos, music, voice memos, pictures, etc.
-The sidebar on the left under the divider, “Social,” allows users to insert social networking connections, so that consumers can share or connect via social networks such as Twitter or Facebook or through phone numbers, phone calls and texting.
-To the right of the screen lies a toolbox labeled, “components.” In this toolbar, the software keeps track of all individual items dragged and inserted into the screen.
